Keyboard stops working in Windows 2000 setup

My keyboard stops working during the GUI part of setup and as a result I can't type my name when prompted and can't finish setup. The mouse works just fine. I've tried two different keyboards with the same results. Any ideas?? Thanks.

What keyboard interface? PS2 or USB? Have you tried both?

Are you getting any type of error message? like this?

Are you using a dvorak keyboard and text-mode setup? look here

Are you trying to install on a Dell Dimension? update your bios

More hardware details are always helpful...

Both keyboards are PS2. I don't have access to a USB keyboard and I can't believe that one is required to install Windows 2000. I'm getting no error messages, the three lights on the keyboard flash and then go out when the GUI pops up. I am trying to install on a Dell but my bios is A11. I am not using a dvorak keyboard and text-mode setup. Thanks.

A USB keyboard isn't required to install Win2K, but if your ps2 port is having issues, then it can be narrowed down by using a USB keyboard.

Again, more hardware details (motherboard, etc) would be helpful.
