This seems like an incredibly stupid problem but I really could use some help figuring it out.

On my newly set up computer I have been working to troubleshoot this minor inconvenience. I think it is a fairly common trait but I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of the repeating ding sound that happens when you hold down a key.

any help shutting this annoyance off will be greatly appreciated.
 
The only time I hear a "ding" sound is when the cursor is on a end of the line and a KB is depressed. Otherwise, it will just keep typing the same key on the screen until you hit the end of the line. So the "ding" sound you are referring must be software or program specific.
