As you can see vv I created an App Shortcut for the Calculator its name is "$$" and the keyboard shortcut is "command C" and it does not work, what am I doing wrong here? Id appreciate some help with this.

Command + C is probably system reserved, it's the command for Copy.

Also, with the App Shortcuts, what you're doing is taking app or menu functions, and assigning them a shortcut. You want to launch the calculator with CMD+C I take it?

In that case, do this: CMD+Space, "c a l c", Return

BTW id love to get an answer to my question in case I want to make any shortcuts in the future but I fixed my problem another way.vv

System Preferences>Mission Control>uncheck "Show Dashboard as a Space"

Problem solved.

CMD + Space, type calculator in and off you go.

Spotlight is one of my favourite features and forgoes the need for a lot of individual app shortcuts.

Anyhow as I said earlier my problem is fixed because the Widgets open on my desktop now instead of switching to a blank screen where you can put other widgets and whatever. Also I much prefer the orange widget calculator over the calculator in OS X Mavericks.

BTW I am starting to get used to Mavericks but I still cannot say if I like it better than Snow Leopard which I used for like ~4 years, I forget exactly but it did the job just fine.

thanks guys!

That depends on where your hands usually are, on the keyboard, or on the trackpad/ mouse.

Yes, I suppose you are correct Stu but most of (actually all) of my PC time is spent surfing, not working so my Magic Mouse gets far more use than my Mac keyboard gets. ;-)
