Keyboard Repair??

My darling 3 year old daughter pulled 5 or 6 keys off of my wife's Averatec laptop this morning and I'm wondering how difficult (or expensive) it is to put them back. I tried to push one back on but it doesn't seem to want to stay on.

I know that I could just get a USB replacement keyboard (in fact I saw a roll-up for $13 at Shop4Tech) but I don't think my wife wants to deal with extra wires etcetera.
 
Any of these compatible with yours?

The replacement keyboards are insanely expensive, I have no idea why.

It isn't hard to put back the letters. Make sure you snap them back into their "sockets" though because that's what makes them stay on. There should be a metal or plastic retention piece that attaches onto the back of the keys.

More than likely, your daughter just popped the keys out without breaking the mechanism that keeps them in place. Hopefully with enough pressure, you can snap them back in.

If she did manage to break the keys, ouch. $80 for a replacement keyboard is insane.
 
Laptop keys are sometimes attached to a somewhat complex pair of scissored metal links. They can be replaced, but it is tedious work requireing a steady hand and good magnifiers.

 
Thanks for the responses so far. We have managed to replace several of the keys but still a few that are being difficult the . ; ' / in particular.
