I'm planning to ebay my old rig with it's basic keyboard, so I'm in need of a good keyboard at a decent price.

I play games and listen to music, so I would like it to have basic multimedia options like play/pause, stop, forward, volume control, etc. Preferably black.

*note: I did a search and found another thread about this, but the person was asking for a good keyboard to play snes roms.

Logitech. I got mine on the cheap and it has everything you need. Except it's beige. =(

go to the store and type on some of the display models and find one you like. except for comfort and key design, there is no reason to get a 100$ keyboard over a 10$ keybaord

How's the battery comsumption on a wireless keyboard? I've been using wired keyboards ll this time. Also, is wireless a good decision if I play a lot of pc games?

Thanks :)

edit: I'd opt for a non-combo pack since I have an MX500

sod wireless keyboards. What happens when it's 2am and the batteries go flat?

They last a fairly long time granted, like a couple of months or so... depends on how much you type I guess... Wireless mice don't last nearly as long, especially opticals.

Some wireless keyboards are pretty good with a couple of meters range, but some have just a couple of feet range and drop key presses occasionally.

Unless you want it for a micro system in your lounge I'd suggest sticking with wired.

I do alot of on line gaming, so I decided against the MX duo. Some talk of minor lag, while others say they see none. If you are ultra serious about gaming, then you should get corded IMO.

That stupid F-lock idea (I need the function keys for gaming) is retarded IMO. Another reason I passed on the MX duo.

I got a cheap black/silver Logitech elite for a new pc I built yesterday. Seems to have a better overall feel to it than previous Microsoft keyboards I've owned.

Currently using Logitech Wireless MX Duo KB and to my knowledge the stock batteries have not died for over a year. (Computer is used mainly for web surfing)

Don't knock it till you tried it. I use my MX duo to play CS Source and don't have any problems. It took some time to get used the the heavier weight of the mouse but Great product.

I have that same Lite-On keyboard. It was $4 when I bought it, and I've never needed anything else. I just use Winamp hotkeys if I want forward/back/etc.
