writing this on winxp on-scree keyboard. the other day my computer locked up, when i rebooted my keyboard wouldnt work. my mouse would work fine til i tried to type, nothing would type an my mouse would stop responding. changed mouse tousb, now keyboard doesnt affect it. tried new usb keyboard, didnt work.

tried unistalling drivers and rebooting, nothing. its coming up with

'Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'

any help wold be awesome, not sure if reformatting will work, will try if i cant find anything else.

thank you!

try booting with the keyboard in the mouse port. Leave the mouse as usb. Sometimes xp won't check for usb keyboard on boot and sees thinks there's a keyboard error.
