Keyboard problems

Haven't posted in a long time now, but I decided to find out if anyone knows the solution to a problem I have been having.
I had a POS keyboard that had many problems (eg. u tap u once and 2 or 3 would come out or i's would come out same with n respectively). I finally decided to get a new one, and it has no problems in that area. The problem with this is that if I hit too many keys at once it will not execute each of the commands. To clarify by example, say I am holding up in Q3 moving forward, then I decide to strafe forward and to the left so I hit the up and left arrow keys (don't tell me to switch to aswd, been playing this way since q1). I can strafe left or right, while moving forward, and the commands are still working; however, when I try to strafe jump left and right back and forth while moving forward, it simply will not work with the enter key. If I change the binds so that shift is jump, it will work work strafe jumping, but if for some reason i tried to use any other key, it will not work. What is this that causes the keyboard to only execute a certain amount of commands simultaneously. It seems to be a keyboard independant problem, because my previous keyboard, although very cheap and screwed up. would not have that problem, at least until you start hitting 7 or 8 keys at once. I prefer PS/2 keyboards, but I was wondering whether this is problem that could be fixed with a USB keyboard. I have a 'logitech internet keyboard' (try as i did to simply get a regular keyboard without the L enter key). My solution so far has been to bind keys to my mouse, which works in freelancer (if i try to thrust and strafe, it will be too much again), but in q3 i have a fixed way of playing and prefer it to stay that way. Tried using the logitech drivers and not using the logitech drivers. Nothing works. I am going to google for a bit and see if I find a solution.

Thanks for your time.

Well, I already said that I had an old one that did not have the same problem. I do not have another one of my current keyboard to compare it with. I am wondering whether there is a solution. Obviously the easy answer is to simply buy another or return the one I currently have and have it replaced. I am looking for information before I resort to that, though. I would like to get this one working, not another ATM.

sounds to me like your interupt controller is having a hard time keeping up with the keyboard commands. what are your system specs? I have the same logitech keyboard and mine works perfectly fine(although i use asdfwerzxcvbg keys for a number of different left handed functions in fps's, namely extremly fast weapons switching on the fly)

I've had this before.

It's a hardware problem with your keyboard. The controller on the keyboard is the limiting factor on how many keys you can hold down at a time. Go out and grab a better keyboard (something like a Microsoft) and you won't have this problem.

I thought it might be the system too, but it did not have a problem with the old POS keyboard. However, you say that you have the same keyboard, and it works fine. There is a possibility that it is a bad keyboard (very strange that my binds to the enter key will not work when 2 more keys are pressed in addition to the enter key). I guess I could get a PS/2 to USB adapter and see what that brings. If it still does not work, I will assume it is the keyboard and return it to newegg (if i can find the receit). If worst comes to worst, and I have to get another one, what is a cheap one without all the crap at the top (email internet buttons) that does not have the L enter key?
