I have a PS/2 keyboard and I got a PS/2 to usb mouse adapter will it work with the keyborad if it says its for a mouse?

when I do plug it in it says unrecognized devise.

 
no it wont work....be the same as plugging in a mouse in the keyboard port....they are wired differently inside...
