When testing it in another location, try to place it on another circuit.. As I think about this more it could be something wrong with your electrical. I have ran accross bad outlets before that stumped alot of technicians before I arrived. (not to sound like I'm some kind of tech god or anything though) Often tho such electrical problems can be apparent in a monitor's display, at least IME...but maybe it's not severe enough for that..
