Keyboard/Mouse Problem

Ok, I tried posting this in Tech Support to but haven't gotten anything really so far so I'm gonna try it here. Ok, so I had a post up about a stop error on my system and someone replied back about updating my drivers from each parts individual site. So I go to update the drivers on my Motherboard, a ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe from the nvidia site like I was told. Well, on the site it said to uninstall all previous drivers, so I did and restarted the computer. Well, upon restart and it logging in for me I discovered to my dismay, that nothing worked. I couldn't move my mouse, keyboard was unresponsive, and the New hardware wizard was up. I guess the system could just be frozen too, but as far as I can tell it's just that the mouse and keyboard aren't working so I can't do anything to fix it. What do I do???!!! Ohh, here's the system specs cuz I'm sure someone will ask for them.

Motherboard - ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe
Processor - AMD Athlon X2 4600+
Ram - 2x1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2
OS - Microsoft Windows XP Home OEM
GPU - XFX Nvidia GeForce 7900GT
Sound Card - SoundBlaster Audigy 4 (still trying to get that to work...)
Hard Drive - Hitachi Deskstar80 Gig 7200 RPM SATA 3.0GB/s
PSU - Fortron AX450-PN

That happens ... particularly when Windows detects a hardware change that makes it re-enumerate everything (or, when someone deleted ALL drivers ...).

The cure is to press the reset button when you're stuck with the New Hardware Wizard open and no keyboard. Windows remembers that, and will skip the "new" device next time. Repeat until you got keyboard and mouse, and then go through the missing drivers manually.
