Keyboard/Mouse Freezup at Boot

Hi

Currently, when I turn on my computer, 30% of the time the mouse and keyboard will be disabled/frozen once windows loads up. Does anyone know what it could be? I really appreciate the help. Thank you!

By any chance are you using a KVM switch? If not are your KB and mouse USB?

If you are using a KVM try to boot up without it.

If you have USB KB and mouse you may have a device conflict, check your hardware device manager.

(sorry for the generic awnser but I need more info to give a more specific awnser. Such as Windows version, Hardware..... etc)

Ok, so when you're booting up Window's your mouse and keyboard stop functioning, yes? Does Window's continue to load up? Are you using PS2 or USB Keyboard Mouse? If you're using PS2 try to get your hands on a USB keyboard and mouse and if you have a USB try for PS2. Might just be a bad port(s).

I am using a USB mouse and a PS/2 Keyboard. I use a USB to PS/2 converter thing for the mouse. Both of them freeze when Windows is starting up. With another restart, it will normally fix the issue. Could the ports be broke?
