Happy holidays everyone....
I bought a used computer to refurbish a bit and then give to my dad to use. It's a Win 98 based system, Pent. 1, second HD added for more room, etc etc. Basically the thing works great and will be way more than he'll ever use, but my question is about a keyboard that I got with it.
It's a Gateway kbd and the only problen I see with it is the "h" key prints a different character. Now....here's what's suspicious about this. The kbd has a "Map" key in the upper right corner. I'm thinking the folks that sold me the computer got rid of the kbd because maybe they accidentally remapped this key unwittingly and couldn't figure out how to UN-remap it. The fact that the key prints anything at all, and the fact that it has this 'Map' key too, tells me that maybe it's not fried.
Is there a way to re-map this back to standard settings? Is there some utility somewhere that will allow this, or is this "map" key the way to do it? I tried using this key but all it does is cause an indicator light to flash......like it's awaiting input or something, but there's no obvious responses.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks....and Happy New year!
