Keyboard Locks when using Instant Messaging

I recently reformatted my hard drive and, with one exception, it is running great. My daughter is on IM about an hour a day and the keyboard has locked up three times, in the last three sessions. It doesn?t seem to matter that I do or don?t have other programs running and I don?t believe IM uses a lot of resources. My OS is Win98SE and I have Celeron 566 with 256mb of ram.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks in advance, Ron
 
What type of IM service are you using when this happens/ AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Excite?

Maybe install the newest version of whatever IM service you using may help.
