We have an HP Vectra system, and when we start it up, an orange light on the front comes on. Below it, is a little logo of a lock.. You can see it in this .pdf on page 9. The monitor does not display anything, simply stays blank.

A different PDF simply states "The Lock LED indicates whether your PC is locked or not. The two states are: orange (PC is locked) and off (PC is not locked)."

I do not know how to unlock it.....!!

I've tried removing the battery.. Adjusting some switches on the bottom corner of the mobo..

Any other suggestions?

Yes, it looks like the power on password in the BIOS is set to keyboard locked condition. You must enter the power on password to unlock the keyboard. or reset the power on password not to lock the keyboard or disable the power on password.

Did you press F10 when booting to go into the BIOS? Do this and disable the power on password there.

Do you know what the power on password is?

If you enter the power on password when you boot the keyboard will be unlocked.
