Keyboard lights die, then mouse, then monitor!

Ok. My computer ether sometimes randomly restarts within seconds after turning on the computer. Or the computer will turn on, the mouse wont, the keyboard wont nore the monitor... The computer can also do this when you have the computer on for a while.. also, it shuts these functions off.. then a few seconds later restarts. What could this be? I just formatted, ran a few anti-spyware checks and the like... Could this be my PSU?

If I get a new PSU.. I need a great relyable one. Something that I can trust to never have problems with again. A name brand, PSU that can take punishment for up to 15 hours at a time. Any help appreciated

Do I need a super high wattage? Which you guys think is the best the the money? How much should I expect to pay?

Any name-brand psu will be good. No need to get a $80 one though unless you're running SLI'd geforces. For the average computer, a 350-450w power supply will work well. Good brands are enermax, thermaltake, sparkle, antec, fortron, seasonic, pc power and cooling (probably more).

Expect to pay $40-$50 for a brand new quality power supply. I'm cheap though and buy them used for $30 or less 🙂

Edit: Oh, and the problems you're having could be the power supply or the motherboard (or actually even more components). If you've got a cheap pc-chips or ecs motherboard, I'd look into that next if a new power supply doesn't help.

How about a:

AMD 3000+
1024 DDR Ram
2x 80Gb HDDs
Geforce 6800GT 256mb
dvd rw

You think that'll require something other than the 50$ ones? Any suggestions on the perfect psu?
