Keyboard is messing up

Last night, I did something really stupid. So I was drinking a cup of water and had put the cup too close to my keyboard. I reach over to grab something, and when I turned back, my elbow had accidently knocked the cup onto the keyboard, and water had soaked into it. I wiped off what I could with a towel, but when I overturned the keyboard, even more water came guzzling out. I'm using a spare keyboard I had, but the one thats been damaged was a split keyboard design, which I really liked since it helps reduce the risk of carpel tunnel syndrome. I figured I'll give it till morning to dry off, and perhaps it would be ok again, but now, when I try to hit the "E" key, "Qwert" gets typed out. Same thing happens if I try to hit the "I" key. Is there anyway to fix this?

Drunkentig3r,

Your KB is suffering from 'keyboardous erroneous' a well known problem when h2O makes contact with 'live' electrical parts.

Resolution: new KB

U might try a hair dryer and blow dry that KB... watch for split ends... however.

good luck.

It seems some keys are connecting via the water that was penetrated there.
You may try to disassemble the keyboard: not to take the buttons out but divide the keyboard into two parts. Find out the screws on the bottom side which fasten them together. There is a film with the metallic spraying covering between them. Clean it with the napkin. There is all you can do. If this film is damaged by water, the keyboard won't work most probably.
