Keyboard inactive during POST

Hi there,

I've got an odd issue which I cannot seem to get around. I recently have put together a new PC. The relevant parts in this case would be a MSI X58M motherboard and a Razer Tarantula keyboard. Everything works wonderfully except that during POST, the I cannot hit either delete (to enter BIOS) or tab (to change to a POST screen from the splash image during boot). I am not sure if this is an issue with the keyboard (which is usb only) being inactive during post or with the motherboard making the usb ports inactive. Any one have any ideas?

Sadly, I do not have a PS/2 keyboard to test with. Though I suppose if all else fails, I can snag one.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks to everyone for their time.

Also, enable Legacy USB Support in BIOS.

I have the same problem with an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 (also X58), and the problem occurs even with a PS/2 keyboard.
General trend seems to be that on a cold boot (power off & on) the keyboard works during post.
Also works if I hit the reset button on the front of the case.

On a warm boot (restart triggered from windows or by control-alt-delete from a dos boot), the keyboard doesn't usually work during POST.
