Keyboard help: All of the keys now type a different character

Here's the problem on a Dell Inspiron 8200. All of the keys on the keyboard type a different character. For example, when I hit the "a" key, it will type something else like "e". All of the keys do this. Im not sure what the problem is. I've tried restoring the computer to a point 1 month ago, but that didn't work. Any tips/help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If the characters that are generated for particular keys are consistant, I would think that the keys have been somehow re-mapped, but I would also think that restoring would fix it. There are no switches on the bottom of the kb are there (that might offer a different map)?

I would try a different kb.

Could be a few different, crazy reasons. The easiest way to begin troubleshooting would be to simply try out another keyboard on it.
