Keyboard Freeze during memory test

I'm running win98 SE, and my keyboard just doesn't work during the memory test so I can't cancel it or even go into bios. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks

You mean when your computer boots up and it does the memory count after that depending on the bios whether is it from Phoenix, AMI, or Award. You cannot enter the bios?

The only way I can seem to enter BIOS is to hold down the del key so that right after it does the memory test it registers taht I hit the del key, otherwise the keyboard basically doesn't work during the memory test. The num lock light doesn't even turn on until after the memory test is completed
