Keyboard doesn't work when booting Slackware with floppy disk

I installed Slackware 9.1, and when I boot it with the floppy made at setup, I can get through and use the keyboard until the point where it asks me for login and password. At that point, no keystrokes are registered, ALT+CTRL+DEL does not work, and the only way I could get out was push the restart button. What could be happening? Something wrong with the keyboard drivers that it's loading? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Could I possibly boot some other way? Right now I have my computer set to boot the NTLDR so it won't be able to boot into Linux without help.
