I had a problem with my Saitek Eclipse keyboard when the ctrl key was pressed the volume would mute and then the computer would sleep. A completely clean format and clean install of vista ultimate and my keyboard still puts my cpu into sleep when I press the ctrl button. I neutralized this by telling my computer to do nothing when the sleep key is pressed, but I have no functionality with the ctrl key except sometimes when pressed it displays characters the characters 53'
Everything else runs fine. I have tried my keyboard in multiple usb ports and rebooted with the same problem. I tried uninstalling the keyboard drivers and reinstalling them. The Eclipse site claim there are no drivers for this keyboard. Any help or ideas on what to try much appreciated.

It sounds like your keyboard may be putting out the wrong signal for the key. Try another keyboard, or try your keyboard on another machine, to see if the problem is the keyboard or the system.
