Keyboard bug?

Sometimes... (it seems when i do a lot of rapid typing in a row) my computer will beep and continue to repeat whatever i had typed last..

then it'll just freeze... but not the computer, ikt'll only freeze my keyboard.

my mouse still works... i can still run programs, everything seems fine, but my keyboard stops responding...

but as soon as i reboot, my keyboard is fine. and it works again...

what gives? it doesn't seem like a keyboard problem, since it fixes itself as soon as i reboot, but then again, i don't really know...

i use windows XP. fully updated.
 
Mine used to do that fairly often, at least every week or two. But now that you mention it I haven't had that problem at all recently that I can remember. I tried changing keyboards once, thinking that was the problem but it would still happen. I then thought it must be due to my overclocking and I think it still happened at stock speeds (not totally positive, it's been a while).

It's highly annoying especially when you're playing a game and have no ability to quit with the mouse. It's happened while not playing games as well.

I never did find out what the problem was. I'm just glad it's sorted itself out. Sorry I'm not of more help but at least you know you're not an isolated case.
