I'll start off by stating what is in my computer that is sucking up the juice.
P4 3.0c
1 gig Ram
DVD+R
CD-RW
Floppy
Wi-Fi Card
Firewire Card
ATI Radeon 9800 pro
2 fans, and a blue light (on same power connection)
400 Watt power supply
OK... now that that is out the way, here is what is happening.
I bought a new wide screen HDTV and I thought, "cool, ill hook my computer up to it". Everything works fine and after messing with the video settings, I'm all happy.
But now that the computer is by my tv, I decide I need a wireless keyboard and mouse. so i get it, hook it up, and I'm happy again..... but not for long.
The range of the receiver was just out of reach and the mouse and keyboard was not really "working" all the time... so I thought no big deal... I buy two 15' ps/2 extension cables, hook everything up and turn on the pc.... and ..... nothing. hard drive is active, lights are blinking, but no POST. So, i unplug the extensions, plug in the receiver again, and it boots up fine..... so after windows has booted up, i unplugg the receiver and hook up the extension cables again and then plug the receiver to the extension cable.... it worked fine.
so... what's the deal with that? does the extesion cables steal too much voltage?
I'm at work right now, but i bought a usb -> ps/2 adapter at lunch hoping that i'll have better luck with usb - > ps2 extension cable -> wireless receiver.
do you guys think it will work?
thanks in advance for suggestions and comments,
