Ok, in addition to the other problems I've been having, now my keyboard and mouse seem to be unresponsive when power on the system. No lights on the keyboard or mouse (mouse is a Razer Diamondback which has an LED inside). I tried unplugging all the other USB things I had (printer and monitor hub connector) and even tried unplugging either the mouse or keyboard, but still neither will work. I'm beginning to think that maybe my motherboard is at fault for the problems I've been having, but I don't know how to verify that theory so that I can justify returning it.

edit: MB power light is on, and it will POST ok, but without keyboard I can't enter BIOS or boot to CD, so it just ends up back at the error message that I've been getting during the Windows XP loading screen. See link below for that post:

Do you have a ps/2 keyboard available? It's not unheard of that USB keyboard support is turned off in the BIOS, though it would be rather odd for a modern mobo. Does the printer turn on when you first boot the computer? If not, it would seem to be a USB problem. I don't know how it might relate to your other problem (I read the thread).

The printer power is on, but other than that I don't see it doing anything when I boot. The keyboard and mouse have been working during bootup up until now....
