Keyboard and mouse not working with PS/2 in XP, only with USB.

Hi, I have a dual boot setup and when I need to select which OS to run a USB keyboard won't work, it needs to be connected by PS/2. So my USB keyboard and mouse combo has one USB plug and a green PS/2 mouse connector. I plugged the green PS/2 connector in and plugged the USB connector into a purple USB to PS/2 keyboard adapter. Now the dual boot selection works but the mouse and keyboard won't work in XP unless they are connected by USB.

How can I get PS/2 working in XP or USB working on the dual boot screen?

Whatever you do, DON'T plug any PS2 device while the system is powered.
The motherboard's PS2 controller chip can be permanently damaged that way.
Check the bios setup for "Enable legacy USB mouse/keyboard support".
