My decade-ish old Logitech G5 is still kicking. Been meaning to get the newer version with a forward button, but too cheap -- funny because I just bought a $40 Marble trackball for work and $15 for a USB hub to connect it to.

Keyboard is a Logitech K120. Decided the smaller, cheaper, and simpler, the better.
 
I wrote up a big thing about the G502 and how much I love it and that I use a blackwidow stealth and orbweaver stealth, but aparently I didn't post it : ( So I'll just say Mouse = awesome keyboard/pad = good really like the stealth keys over loud clicky keys.

I used an MS sidewinder mouse (original not the shitty x series ones) for 7 or 8 years and loved it. First one switches went bad (double click issue) after a little under 3 years and they sent me a new one no questions asked which lasted me until this day. Only switched to the G502 because I wanted more buttons.

I have the same set that I use for work - never thought to test it out for gaming. It seems a bit flimsy to me. I have a really old original MS Trackball for gaming. Maybe I should trade.. hmmm...

And I did have a second generation G15 that I loved gaming with until I spilled Beer on it and ruined it 🙁

Using a G710+ now. I still miss my G15 tho.

Same on the keyboard. It's the best one I've found. I greatly prefer the notebook style short-throw keys, but I like the old Ultra better than the newer notebook style Logitech keyboards.

Mouse: Zowie Evo EC1 CL

I previously had a G15 keyboard (the old one) and moved to the mechanical keyboard. It certainly improved my typing speed and has reduced the amount of mistakes I make when typing. I really like the mechanical keyboard for typing. Don't feel it makes any real difference in games, if anything its sometimes a problem as I occasionally ride a key half way down and I sometimes activate when I don't want to or too early. But I also find I don't bottom out the keys as much which reduces fatigue.

For mice I only ever consider flawless sensor mice designed for low sensitivity (FPS mainly) gaming suitable for a part claw part palm gripper. The Zowie range of mice all have flawless sensors and low lift off distances and zero problems of acceleration or snapping. So basically I have gone through a few to get the right shape and size that I like and the EC1 Evo CL is the best of them. Its big enough for a palm grip but I can claw it when BF4 tap firing and the enhanced speed wheel makes changing weapons a bit snappier and browsing the web a bit easier as well. Buttons are all nice, but the rubberised coating isn't going to last more than about 6-12 months by the looks of things since its cracking. But I will definitely be buying this mouse again, the best mouse I have used in 5 years. I really do recommend people start using flawless sensor mice, all these rubbish Logitech mice and laser mice etc have some serious and obvious problems.

Exactly! I find the low profile really help when your quickly moving about the keyboard, or doing crazy hotkey combos in MMORPGs. I highly recommend people try a laptop style board for gaming before you splurge on one of those crazy gaming boards like the Razer Orbweaver.

I moved from the G15 > Vengeance K70 as well. I like it a lot better. With the G15 I'd always hit the Gkeys instead of escape. So I programmed all the buttons except the top one so it didn't trigger anything on accident. Overall the K70 imo is a lot smoother, but you're right, not a huge different in games.
 
I just upgraded my stuff. I am using a Razer Imperator mouse and a Razer 2014 Black Widow Ultimate Stealth keyboard.

The mouse took a bit of adjustment to tune in (it has adjustable on the fly DPI settings). The keyboard is the best keyboard I have ever used. I absolutely love it. its quiet for a mechnical keyboard, key weighting is great, movement is smooth, and the keyboard has a good heft so it doesnt move around.
 
I play almost only shooters and use a Logitech Marble Mouse for aiming and a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for shooting, moving, and pretty much everything else. I find it more fun and it also uses different muscle motions from my work setup of mouse and keyboard, which helps protect against carpal tunnel problems. However, as a righty aiming with his left hand I would not be competitive online.

Happy with both. Pretty accustomed to playing with both so I won't be getting anything until they show their age.
