Ok, I installed service pack one for XP on my home comp, and when it finished installing, I restarted, but heard a strange noise (like the sound of holding one of the keys down when your system locks up, or during startup...a "zzzzzzz" noise) I checked to see if maybe one of the keys was pressed down, but they were all normal. I also noticed none of the LED's were lit on the keyboard. I went to enter my password and I couldn't. My mouse works fine, but my keyboard was dead (or so I thought).

I brought the keyboard to work today (it's a MS Internet Keyboard - PS/2) and tried it on my work comp, and it works fine! (I'm using it now).

What the heck happened? Everything was fine before I installed SP1. Is it possible my Keyboard PS/2 port shorted out? I am going to go buy a USB keyboard since my USB mouse is working, but I really just want to know what the problem is.

What really sucks is that I can't even get into my BIOS! Grrrr.....

Any suggestions?

No, I am going in a few minutes to buy a USB, one....I may pick up a cheap PS2 one to try out too to see if it's the port.
