1 WinKey + R
2 type "charmap"
3 press "enter"
4 search for desired character
5 double-click desired character
6 click "Copy"
7 paste desired character into text

Or do steps 1-4 and select the desired character and note the key sequence listed in the lower right hand corner of the window. Use that key sequence whenever that character is required.
