He definitely doesn't, he sounds like a smart con artist, able to go around all these lawsuits against him.

But this is not his first conviction. Who would do that, who would go against a judge, unless you had something wrong with you?

I mean, this guy knows that what he is selling is bunk, he knew he faced prison time, and he did it anyway. Something is not right in his head.

I cured myself of deadly non operable cancer using his books!
Using an rub that he prescribed I can now see again...I was blind!!

I invested my life fortune in some stock in Lower Bangladesh.....

Now I am finding out that none of these cures are real......

So, he writes self help books? What did he get convicted for? If it was for his books, that sounds like censorship.

just go to the amazon links posted in this thread and read some reviews.

the scammery is pretty obvious--plus he's a conspiracy loony toon. ...well, he preys on the conspiracy loony toons (honestly, i think it's fine to profit off of idiots, but his "natural cures" probably kill people. Well, definitely killing people with treatable cancer that are moving on to sugar pills and cactus leaves)

this is example of what garbage the us legal system is. so writing books and doing informercials is a crime that deserves 10 years in prison? even if what he said was total crap, there are a million other books and infomercials that make just as many false claims and promises. have they put the founder of weight watchers or jenny craig in prison? there are millions of people gaining weight on their rip off programs. what infomercial or self help book isnt a scam? if feel sorry for trudeau, he just got an abusive judge who was jealous of his success (his books were very popular a few years ago) and wanted to send him to prison to get publicity. the real scammer is the judge in this case

I'm not sure being a bullshitter is an actionable offense, or it shouldn't be anyway. People need to use their own judgment, and if their judgment sucks, then I guess it sucks to be them. The world's full of scams and misrepresentations. A simple trip to the supermarket gives numerous examples. It shouldn't be done, but it shouldn't be illegal either.

Your Amazon link idea was perfect, If someone after the first reviewer buys the books, they deserve them. There's no reason to get something you don't want in the internet age.

the books have more 5 star reviews than one star, and most of the one star reviews are just dumaxes piling on after they heard about some judge calling him a fraudster. the book is still 23000 on the best seller list which is very high for a book thats been out that long, that means there are tons of people who read it recommending that book to their friends. and if you read the reviews, there are plenty of readers who admitted that they lost weight, cured diseases and became healthier following the advice in his books.

IIRC, the jail time is not for the books and infomercials. It is for the fact he refused to pay the fine for the books and infomercials, claiming "proverty" while still living a very rich lifestyle. The jail time was for criminal contempt.

I feel sorry for anybody that thinks weight watchers is a holistic weight loss... nope, nevermind. Not gonna feed the trolls

i remember many years ago, probably more than 20, he had an infomercial that fascinated me for developing a photographic memory. i was probably 13 or 14 at the time. who wouldn't want that ability? that was the first time i ever saw him on an infomercial. never saw that product again though, i guess there was more money to be made in shark cartilage.

Weight watchers and Jenny Craig can work. There is a difference.

Preying on idiots is good business but that can be taken too far.

yup - lol smart move not paying any of a $37 million fine justified by an appeals court for 7 years and hiding your assets

On November 28, 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission issued warnings to companies selling human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) as weight loss products as the claims are unsupported.[79] The HCG diet was popularized by Trudeau's The Weight-Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About book in 2007.[79][80]

On Nov. 29, 2011, Trudeau lost his 2010 appeal in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The court found that the $37.6 million fine for violating his 2004 settlement with the Federal Trade Commission was appropriate as Trudeau had aired 32,000 infomercials and described the figure as "conservative."[3][4] The court considered sales only from the 800 number used to place orders and excluded internet and store sales.[3][4] Additionally, the court found that requiring Trudeau to make a $2 million performance bond prior to participating in an infomercial was constitutional.[3]

Its not a crime to write books, its a crime to commit fraud. He made many unsubstantiated claims including natural cures that were not cures at all. This is the equivalent of selling you a car that doesn't run but claiming that it does. He could be tried for murder as those who attempted his cures and failed to get real medicine may have died because of him.

This guy was a true quack if he believed the stuff he was saying.
"Trudeau made a number of outstanding claims in the book that received widespread media attention. This included that the sun does not cause cancer, sunscreen is one of the major causes of skin cancer and that AIDS is a hoax.[21]"

In his book "Debt Cures “They” Don't Want You to Know About" He actually sanctioned fraud.
Trudeau says that if readers disagree with items on their credit reports, they can dispute them as identity theft; this was the "magic cure" of the book's title.
