Kevin Garnett is listed at 6'11", NO WAY he's only 6'11".

I think in his first or second season he was still growing and he told people he was 6'12" cuz he didn't want to be referred to as a 7-footer.

Is he the MVP front-runner right now? Can the T-Wolves hang with the Spurs? FWIW, I'm somewhat of a T-Wolves fan; or at least I wanted to see them oust the hometown Lakers, hahah.

They tend to add inches to players' actual heights. My brother is always listed as 6' 9", but my guess is he isn't exactly 6' 9". My sis comes close to reaching him. My guess would be he's something like 6' 5" - 6' 7". But all of accounts of him on his profile read 6' 9". Exaggeration just runs in the b-ball blood. Hehe! :p So I'm surprised you would suspect Kevin is taller.

He might be only 6'11(yeah right) but he has like a 8ft wing spand. But he is the most complete big man(poward foward or center) in the league...offensively and defensively. He is 1 of 3 players that you can put a bunch of average players around them and easily win in the EASTERN conference, the other being shaq and duncan:).

Yes he's actually 7'1" but likes being listed as smaller... goog40 hit it on the head... it's part of his personality.

KG isn't 7'1" (he just looks taller than 6'11" because of his wingspan and his jumping ability). For the longest time, he was listed as 7'0" but they finally got his correct measurements. Most NBA players are listed taller than they really are but NEVER shorter.

Here are some players that are listed taller than they really are ...

Elton Brand
Listed: 6'9"
Real height: 6'6" (I saw him play and he stood no taller than Marko Jaric and Corey Maggette)

Shaq O'Neal
Listed: 7'1"
Real height: 6'11" (My friend told me this and I didn't believe him. I watched the Christmas game and I saw him standing next to Kelvin Cato. They were the same height!)

Charles Barkley
Listed: 6'6"
Real height: 6'4"

Hakeem Olajuwon
Listed: 7'0"
Real height: 6'10"

Larry Johnson
Listed: 6'6"
Real height: 6'4"

These are just the ones I'm aware of ... I think most of the 7 footers are really 6'11" (i.e. Elden Campbell. When he played for the Lakers, he was listed as 6'11" as a PF. Now that he primarily plays center, he is always listed as 7'0").

Also, did you guys notice Kobe Bryant is no longer listed as 6'7"? He is back to his real height ... 6'6" (the height he was listed as when he came into the league).

Shaq is listed at 7'1" & KG seemed 2 inches shorter then Shaq (last year during playoffs). So 6'11" seems about right.

I think this is for the most part a joke and know barkley is much taller than 6'4. He's easily taller than MJ who's 6'6 (errr, 6'4 probably to you). And there's no way EB is only 6'6 whatever you thought you saw. I watched him for a few years and he easily appeared atleast 6'7-6'8 lined up with other pf's of the same height.

As for KG he avoids like a plague being called a 7 footer because he doesn't want to get thrown into the center position on occasion.

More then likely, Garnett is listing his real height, but he looks bigger because everyone else is overstating thier height
