Marrying Heinz has certainly been good for the Massachusetts pol's living standards. He once was considered one of the poorest senators in America before marrying into money.

NY POST

Unlike Bush who had everything handed to him. Our so called President is a POS.

Kerry can understand the average man, unlike Bush who only cares about the rich.

The Democratic presidential candidate grew up in a world of elite private schools and vacations on a French estate, something most Americans could only dream about.

Social prominence and affluence etched Kerry?s early life.

His mother, Rosemary Forbes, was a member of the Forbes shipping family and a descendent of John Winthrop, who helped found Boston in 1630.

In 1970, a year after returning from the Vietnam War, Kerry married Julia Thorne, who wore a wedding dress handed down from an ancestor whose nuptials were attended by Alexander Hamilton and George Washington. Thorne came from a wealthy Long Island, N.Y., family and, like Kerry, spent long periods of her youth in Europe.

He was married to a $300,000,000 heiress before entering the Senate.

right...so the President is BAD...because he worked and conducted business deals to make money and now he's rich, while Kerry merely married someone to get rich.

now i understand.

Prior to his owneship of the Texas Rangers he wqas a disaster of a businessman, especially in the Oil Business. Using the taxpayers money to build another stadium for the Rangers was how he was succesful with the ownership of the Rangers.

Good business is good business. Marriage is marriage, unless you are a Forbes. Then it's business. Kerry was NEVER poor. He just became better off through marriage.

...not too many poor kids sat around the deck of JFK's boat, unless he hired them to scrub it.

Yeah, Julia Thorne. She wrote two books after her and old John-boy divorced:

"You Are Not Alone: Words of Experience and Hope for the Journey Through Depression"

"A Change of Heart: Words of Experience and Hope for the Journey Through Divorce"

John-boy drove that woman crazy. . . . .

well considering kerry doesn't come off half bad in those books, its no big thing. she still supports him for president to boot:p

...probably had her looking all over the house for those medals he didn't throw away "Just keep looking, woman, I know they are here somewhere!"

and you conservatives should just keep looking for the medals that bush never had... maybe you should nominate him for a medal for the effort it took to keep his own neck safe. and some more medals for cheney and ascroft for exceptional avoidance of draft through deferments:p

and perhaps another medal for yourselves, for turning moderate republicans for 30 yrs like tersa heinz into democrats.

yea, in an aluminum unarmored boat in a unit that was sent upstream to flush out the enemy nearly without support and under heavy fire. a force that faced a 75% casualty rate. operation Sealord i guess kerrys dad only paid for a very cheap seat where he'd face heavy fire. so oh please indeed!

anyways, you might be right. i've been told the vietcong only attacked troops on tuesday each week, only if its on an even numbered day, after 12 hours of beauty sleep, and only if the sun was out. they are a fincky lot. so hell you might be right about kerry getting too decorated in those months of war.
