how can millions of tons of pollution being pumped into the atmosphere every single day have any effect on the climate?
Human CO2 production is insignificant compared to the amount released by the ocean as it warms up.
There is a natural carbon cycle where carbon moves from the earth and into the atmosphere and back again sure, but humans are affecting both sides by adding more carbon to the atmosphere and destroying the method by which carbon returns to the earth through deforestation. The worst part is that we're doing both at an increasing rate so even if you were to assume that we hadn't done enough to cause a change yet, if we keep going at the same rate eventually something will have to give.

Can you imagine if the US actually bought into the stupid ass Kyoto treaty...and then this year is one of the coldest....they'd be claiming SEE WE CAN CONTROL GLOBAL WARMING!
LOL, that would be pretty funny and I don't really doubt that the same people who politicize climate change now would say something like that. I think anyone who cared enough to be honest would note that there is significant variation from year to year and that you'd have to average out the extremes, not necessarily going by year to year data.
