how can millions of tons of pollution being pumped into the atmosphere every single day have any effect on the climate?

Human CO2 production is insignificant compared to the amount released by the ocean as it warms up.

There is a natural carbon cycle where carbon moves from the earth and into the atmosphere and back again sure, but humans are affecting both sides by adding more carbon to the atmosphere and destroying the method by which carbon returns to the earth through deforestation. The worst part is that we're doing both at an increasing rate so even if you were to assume that we hadn't done enough to cause a change yet, if we keep going at the same rate eventually something will have to give.

Can you imagine if the US actually bought into the stupid ass Kyoto treaty...and then this year is one of the coldest....they'd be claiming SEE WE CAN CONTROL GLOBAL WARMING!

LOL, that would be pretty funny and I don't really doubt that the same people who politicize climate change now would say something like that. I think anyone who cared enough to be honest would note that there is significant variation from year to year and that you'd have to average out the extremes, not necessarily going by year to year data.

Global Warming is a farce and has ZERO to do with her post even if it was even remotely true. Why can't these morons just get to the business of the people instead of grandstanding every chance they get? F'n bloated windbag.

It's on C-span - no link as it's live.

You are highly reactive. Can we take this as proof of the theory of Righti-tightie knee-jerk syndrome?

WELL!! So is the amount of propellent in the fuse used to set off an explosive. It is significant in the fact that it does set off the explosion?

Another small mind trying to disguise the problem, C02 is by no means the only factor that drives global warming, and what we do not yet know about the various interactions of many factors, only tends make PROVING anything now much more difficult.

But no doubt about, everyone in the world and all kinds of human behaviors all over the world requires regarding global warming as a political problem that requires world wide consensus, so the Cad hypothesis, that Kerry's remarks about Global warming are irrelevant in a Secretary of State confirmation hearing fails.

But that is somewhat conditional, if we believe, like Cad, that worrying about the possible Global warming dangers is not valid because global warming does not exist, then any conversations in any context about global warming are therefore irrelevant.

Pardon us Cad, most of us believe Global Warming dangers is something to worry about and something that should be addressed. In short, you have no veto powers.

And while Cad has a right to an opinion, right now, the knowledge balance has swung, and its far harder to prove global Warming does not exist than it does to prove global warming does exist.
