Sen. John F. Kerry sent 28 letters in behalf of a San Diego defense contractor who pleaded guilty last week to illegally funneling campaign contributions to the Massachusetts senator and four other congressmen.

Members of Congress often write letters supporting constituent businesses and favored projects. But as the Democratic presidential front-runner, Kerry has promoted himself as a candidate who has never been beholden to campaign contributors and special interests

[...]

Asked what he did to repay the money, Kerry's campaign said Wednesday he had donated $13,000 to charity on Feb. 9 ? which was two days before Majumder's guilty plea.

Doesn't surprice me either, CAD, anyone who's been in politics as long as he has, is bound to be sucking on the special interest tit. I honestly don't know what people see in this guy. They say he has experience, uh huh...sure, whatever. I don't really trust politicans who have to much "experience". But that's just me.

Are republicans Really Going to Try and make "Special Interests" a Campaign Issue.

Word of advice. You might want to leave this area alone.

I think Kerry is only running for President so that he can increase his price in the Senate. The man has no morals when it comes to selling himself to the highest special interest bidder. Seeing all the publicity he's getting, I wouldn't be surprised to see him challenge Daschle for Democratic leadership, either.

Seeing that his retirement plan includes marrying rich women and living off of the scrap they throw him, I can't imagine this whore becoming President.

Should he choose Edwards as his running mate, a lawyer and a lolita would make a perfect combination, seeing that their interests are who(r)lly mutual.

Actually I think it's kerry and edwards who are trying to make this an issue;) Showing everyone they are hypocrits is not making it a campaign issue. kerry and edwards are claiming to be this and that and the other thing but time and time again they are shown to be hypocrits. They will be called on it every time.

I think you need to check John "Lolita" Kerry's senate record before you debate this further.

Like I said - "They will be called on it every time."

Bush isn't making some claim about being "anti-special interest" - kerry is.

Talk about missing the point completely. It's not about "special interests", it's about hypocrisy.

Yes i know Kerry and His Record are hypocritical. But show me a politician who isnt.

Being a hypocrit is A Job Skill needed for politics.

My point is, Do republicans really want to bring the Issue of Special interests to the forefront.

Anyone pay any attention to this ?
Your brush is too big when you just paint to taint.
(no - not painting taint)

Federal prosecutors initially determined that $13,000 of the donations were illegally reimbursed, but they now say that nearly all of the money was tainted. They said there was no evidence Kerry or other members of Congress would have known that.

Asked what he did to repay the money, Kerry's campaign said Wednesday he had donated $13,000 to charity on Feb. 9 ? which was two days before Majumder's guilty plea.

the issue isn't if the money is illegal or not the issue is if kerry does things for his campaign donors, which he says he doesn't when saying he isn't beholden to contributors or special interests. get it?
