Despite the hijacks....
Piano - where in NW Iowa did you grow up? My "hometown" is in NW Iowa too.
BTW to all - this was for entertainment so lay off the partisan and stereotype sniping already.

agreed......cmon guys
Yea, my comments were a ways over the top. But being from Sioux City and having family everywhere in NW IOwa, I do know that Storm Lake is a very conservative town, like every town in NW Iowa. Growing up as a progressive in Sioux City was not that great. Siouxlanders, as they are called, have a lot of church control going on. THen there is Dutch country up north of Sioux City. That part of the state is so conservative that even Walmart closes on Sundays.

Yeah, Siouxland is quite Conservative overall - just like 90% of Iowa. If it weren't for political cess-pits like the Greater Des Moines area(Ames too), the CedarRapids/Iowa City area, and the Quad Cities this state would be entirely Red
However, just because Iowa is mostly comprised of Farming communities doesn't make them hicks. Sure there are plenty of "hicks" but there are also some well educated people who are Conservative in that area too. Being born in Pocahontas and stomping around my hometown of Laurens - I can assure you that they are not all are hicks. I'm sure to "progressives" and/or cityslickers, who have never been out of their cities and actually worked a day out in the fields, they all seem like "hicks" but it should always be remembered that these "hicks" are supplying your Bacon, corn, and soy
Anyway - none of that really has to do with the thread's topic.
