NAV just found my kernell32.dll to be infected by the backdoor destiny virus...I quarantined it, but I was hoping I could replace the file with a clean one...any way to do this?

boot of of a clean(virus-free) floppy and copy the exact version of the file back in. Just make sure the virus isn't lurking somewhere else.

That is what I would try first.

The best solution when you are infected by a virus is to: Backup, format, reinstall, restore. Also, look into purchasing anti-virus software, and learn how to use it. Not to mention stay away from email executables, warez, and anything else like this that may give you trouble.

I have Norton Antivirus(as I mentioned in the first post), and I am very careful about what files I download/open. I'm assuming it was one of the other four family members who uses this computer...

I use a norton antivirus and Pc backdoor for trojans, seems most of the time I catch trojans with Pcbackdoor then I scan the files with Nav just to check them out and most of the time it does not detect them! Oh yea the like a month or so ago I was downloading Global warfare which is a half-life add on and found a trojan in that Beta version! The whole episode with limewire and rapped in trojans among other programs was the little boost I needed to go get some protection!
