So, what are the guesses for the first distro to be completely based on 2.4 (and XFree 4.0.2)? I know, the latest RedHat, Mandrake, and other favorites are 2.4-ready and capable, but I'm talking built from the latest goods. This could get interesting. :)

SuSE 7.1 (due end of month?) will come with 2.4.0 as default kernel. But I'd wait until 2.4.5 or so as .0 releases tend to be buggy.

One of my Linux machines has been running 2.4.0-test11 for about a month, with no known problems. I skipped 2.4.0-test12, but will be installing the official 2.4.0 soon.

I've been running the official 2.4 since the day after it was released and it seems to work fine. My advice would be to forget about a distro coming with 2.4. Just put it in yourself. Takes a while going from 2.2 but it isn't that hard. All the ever changes in a newer distro is included software and you can update your machine manually without having to ever worry about a newer distro coming out (and you know exactly what is installed and where).

Hello,
Does anyone know if 2.4 supports IEEE 1394/OHCI cards (ie. plugging in a DV camcoder)--or is it just USB support right now?? Also, on a related note, any good video editing (NLE) software out there for Linux you might know of??

Thanks a lot guys.
