Kerbal needs an update.

I love Kerbal. That said, I wish they had a better control system in place for achieving orbit. On a basic level, there is nothing that a player can't accomplish using the base controls. On a more advanced level, many of us use mods for more precise flying, just as real astronauts allow computers to control most aspects of launch and burns.

I get annoyed when flying full manual in Kerbal because my attempts can be described at best as coarse. Practice does improve skill, but only up to a point.

In any case, what I want is an official flight planning module that can be used to help optimize orbit insertion as well as plan more complex missions such as flying to Mun. Just getting there isn't a goal for many anymore. I want to plan facilities there, so perhaps if I decide that it will take 5 flights to complete it, a planning tool that can tell me optimal launch times and total Delta V to accomplish would go a long way toward making it feel more authentic.

Anyways, that's just a thought. I'm quite amazed at what some gamers have accomplished with the confines of what is released. Mods are great, but my point is that the game should have more integrated in the base game. I get that the game is still Alpha, but damn it's been alpha for a year now. 😛

Anyways, much love for KSP.
