Kept deleteing dlls and they come back unless I go to SAFE MODE

Anyone know the utility or driver causing things like video drivers I was purging to come right back on the delete?

I went to SAFE mode and could delete them fine.

Thanks
Chris

Sound like the built-in Windows File Protection feature. You *may* wanna reinstall the program and then uninstall it to see if it helps.

Windows File Protection is there to keep stupid users from deleting core operating system files.

Why are you deleting dll files from your system directories? This is typically a Very Bad Idea.

nvidia and ati remnants...also a few older verified dlls from poor uninstall proggies left over. One day I will do a reformat and reinstall but the thought of re-tweaking everything is sucky 🙂

.DLLs' are application extensions...As long as they are not directly causing problems, there is no reason to get rid of them. Also, another application may be using them without you knowing it. Like Nogginboink said, deleting DLLs' can be a bad thing and cause other programs to not function properly. Worst case, your machine may not start at all.

based on my other threads I was having problems with left over .dlls causing problems with my radeon install. Normally I leave the .dll's alone
