I was listening to WFAN and the guy said there is a rumor of KMart for Rasheed Wallace AND another Blazer.

I think i like that. Kidd and Scott got KMart to behave last year, if they can do the same for Wallace, NO ONE has ever questioned wallaces playing ability.

I like this trade a lot. it's worth taking a shot.

awesome trade for NJ.

Wallace has MUCH MORE game than Kmart.
balanced inside and out, and he can pop the 3, while giving up a little on defense. but that's where Mutombo's got his back ;)

i could see it happening. Blazers can try and get a new start, Nets get Wallace.

IF they get wallace, you have to see NJ as favorites to win the east.

The Trail Blazers are considering a deal that would send Wallace and Ruben Patterson to New Jersey for Kenyon Martin and Dikembe Mutombo, The Oregonian reports. "There have been some discussions, but there is not a trade on the table at this moment," coach Maurice Cheeks said Friday.

from ESPN's site. Interesting deal.....

WOW, that would be JUST what NJ needed.

also, it would help out Blazers to as Mutombo only has a couple of years left on his contract.

Detriot.

oh, in this deal they would lose mutumbo too? hmmm...
well, you have to think about it from all angles. they lose youth and speed for an established inside threat, a real go-to guy.
Wallace is better than Martin is TODAY (and probably better than Martin will ever be IMHO), and seeing that they just signed Kidd, they're serious about winning a championship in the near future.
I think this trade would give them a much better shot.

wallace and the blazers weren't getting anywhere, and neither were the Nets with just Kidd and martin.
maybe the blazers are banking on martin to be their next franchise player

IF this trade goes thru NJ improves significantly, patterson is a decent SF/SG and Wallace is wallace.

this also means that NJ won't have to try and trade away Jason Collins.

Nets would have Mourning, Wallace, Jefferson, Kittles and Kid / Collins and Atrain will be invaluable to keep mournings minutes down and less punishing.

AMAZING

Arenas signs a 6 yr $65 million deal.

Does KMart HONESTLY feel that he is so much better than Arenas that he finds this offer insulting??

Damn, i hope this trade between the Blazers and the Nets gets done.

Arenas is a bust waiting to happen.

This is going to bite Wizards in the ass like Juwan Howard deal.

Good God. I understand the blazers are trying to clean up their image and all and the nanny rapist and the pothead with the wad of juicy fruit on his dome aren't exactlly the most squeaky clean players but come on... Trading the two of them for a washed up wookie (don't tell me that's not what he sounds like) and a guy with (imo) overrated game is not a good choice. Don't get me wrong, I like Kmart but when Wallace has his head on straight I'd say he's easily one of the top 15, if not top 10 players in the game. Bad move :frown:

Gilbert Arenas is a breakout player waiting to happen...he is probably the fastest guy from end to end with or without the ball in the league, and clearly his shooting has greatly improved over the last 2 years. As long as he stays hungry, he'll be fine.

Juwann Howard was happy to get paid, then stayed out of the gym in the offseason - he still has never lifted a weight in his life. Arenas is a gym rat.

Kmart is over-rated? He is a pretty good player - I think his offensive game has come a long way - and defensively he is excellent. Still, Wallace is a bettter player, and his presence would make the Nets a legit NBA title contender, not just the East favorites. Patterson is a punk, but is a tough defender as well.

Portland really needs to get rid of Stoudamire - 3 drug arrests in the last 2 years? Tell me there is some clause in his contract that says they can terminate his contract, please!

The warriors were playing a coaching-less game, of course the point guard can put up big numbers.
Look at the other players in the team, jamison 22 ppg 7rpg, richardson 15.6 ppg, Troy murphy 11 ppg 10rpg.
The stats in the team are inflated. None of the players mentioned above are good NBA players, streetball may be.
How many years does rasheed's contract have left?

Juwann was NEVER that great, he was good but never on the level of Dirk Nowitzki or even Rasheed Wallace. he was an above average player.
