This has all the signs, in my admittedly unimportant opinion, of being penned by an extremely gifted person. I so enjoyed it I had to read it a number of times.

The hilarious thing to me: even if this weren't a massive fake, what purpose would it serve? The whole point of the birther conspiracy theories was to delegitimize Obama while he was President... that ship has sailed. It's akin to cheating in a race after the winner has already crossed the finish line -- even if you could get away with it, you're too late.

Good question, but probably not odd. England, Canada, et. al didn't begin lurching towards the metric system until sometime in the mid/late '60s. Iirc, Liberia still stands with 'Murica in their principled objection to this soulless Frenchy-French scheme.

I remember the feeble attempt the US did back in the Seventies all the road signs maps were changed to show metric as well. In school we started learning about metrics. years later poof.
