As the topic says...

I'm having a bit of problems with mine... it reads everything great... CD-R's/RW's and now does audio extraction at over 40x. However, Clone CD says that it does not support the reading of Sub Channel data which as I understand is needed to make "backup" copies of some of my favorite software.

Is this right? It seems that this drive really should support it. Would I be better off dumping this drive and getting a slower one for backups, or should I just use my Iomega 12/10/32 when it comes?

Thanks All...

It does not read sub.

Just use the writer to pirate er "backup" your games.

That sucks... :(

Is this something that could possible be fixed in the future by firmware, or is it related to hardware limitations?

Do some archive searches about Kenwood's history in the computer market :) Some hate me for this, some thank me and some regret not listening, where is PeterMichael? ;)

hmmmm.... after reading a bit through the forums, and after pulling my hair out trying to get some tech support...

the web site has been down for a week...
the 800 number goes to a voice mailbox...

I think I will be returning this drive and picking up a decent CD-Rom or DVD reader. Anybody know if any of the boxed drives at Best Buy are any good? That is where I got this one (gift cards), and I can't think of anything else I need there.

Thanks all for your input.
