Kenwood 72x problems..

hey guys, i just put together a new system with a kenwood 72x drive, but the thing refuses to read data discs in windows. i can install windows with it, but once i get to installing drivers in windows the thing will refuse to read data discs. audio discs work fine. i think it MIGHT be the VIA drivers, after i installed those, i think thats when the problems started happening... i have DMA on and its attached to the second IDE as master with no slave, like they say to. i emailed kenwood, but nothing yet.. anyone know how to fix this?
