Don't know how they compare to the Profile ones at CC.
But I did spend a lot of time listening to them and comparing them to the better KFC-1669S at The Good Guys. I spent 30 minutes setting up the head-units normalize the equalizers and turn off all fancy stuff. Then I turned off all other speakers. And I just stood there listening to the KFC-1669S and KFC-1659S with radio music that I am somewhat familiar with.
The KFC-1659S has wizzer tweeters. I am not much of a fan for wizzer cones . . . so I wanted to hear a difference.
I couldn't figure out the difference for a while, except the 1659S seems to have a louder high frequency. In fact, my gf got tired of waiting for me at the home entertainment room and she came over just as I was testing. She claimed the 1659S sounds louder and better than the 1669S.
I listened more and I thought about it and I said, "The high frequency is louder because it has more noise and distortion than the softer, quieter 1669S." She listened some more and agreed. I spent some more time comparing it to other brand and model speakers around it. And it's really not that easy to tell a difference between these cheap ones compared to the others.
It took us more than 30 minutes to really hear a difference, that we decided it's not worth while for us to pay more than twice as much ($50) for the more expensive 1669S. The 1659S will do just fine. Plus, the woofer cone and magnet is the same between 1659S and 1669S, so if you are only using these for rear fills ambience without wanting to use the tweeter, then the 1669S is over-kill. Also, we already have separate component tweeters in our cars and will probably put in a passive low-pass filter. The 1659S feels like a great deal.
