"Residents on Hogan?s floor said the halls had been overtaken by a stench for the past few weeks that turned out to be the smell of her decomposing body".

Everyone thought it was rotten food or the restrooms....Rumor has it on campus that it was a murder and they are trying to keep it quiet so not to cause any panic.

Cause of death inconclusive

I hate universities covering up crimes. Earlier this year someone tried to burn down my dorm complex 3 different times. I only found out about the first two because I was here for the third attempt. The others while I was in class. And I would've never found out about the 3rd one if I wasn't here for it. I would like to know if someone is trying to burn my home down, if people are being killed or raped in my home, or if there is a high about of theift going on. But schools will never admit what is really going on. I finally started to read the campus police reports after the fires.

not sure if you guys remember this, but last year at ucla a student got raped around 11am. What happend was 3 high school students on a field trip to our school decided it'll be fun and hook up with college girls. I heard that they walked around at first looking telling girls that they were from girls gone wild. Their final attempt was rrandomly knocking on people's doors. One unlucky girl opened and they just pushed in and raped her, 3 of them on 1 girl. It was terribly sad. A girl that i lifed next to said that those 3 same guys tried to follow her into our building, but she quickly shut the door. The building that the girl that raped in was right across from mine!!! Then i remember reading in the paper where fell hs students of the rapists were interviewed. Some said, i dont' believe they did it, they were nice guys. Another stupid person said: "they shouldn't be tried as an adult, they were just immature" (something like that).

Edit: I mentioned this because at first UCLA tried to keep it from us, not wanting to reveal anything, but i think it was for the safety and concern of the victim.

It is really weird because none of the local news channels around here have anything on this. I only heard about it because of my friend who is still at the dorms.

That is the way it always is on campus, any of them. Last year there were 3 suicides on campus, I only knew about one of them (until I read throw the police reports) and that was because it was in the dorms next to mine and I saw all the police, etc and at that time I was in Hall government so I knew people who knew.

The last time my dorms caught on fire I called all of the News places, and none of them cared. One even told me they had already talked to the school and the school said "nothing happen, it's just a rumor." There was about one paragraph in the school paper a week later.

this is just sick considering im at work with the schools EMS system. Nasty...I hope I NEVER have to come accross that while Im working here.

During my freshman year at Virginia Tech, a girl "fell" out of her 8th story dorm room window and was found the next morning by the paper boy. Anyone who's been in that dorm knows that it is impossible to just fall out of one of those windows (because of the design), yet the school maintained that she rolled out in her sleep. The whole thing stunk of a "Nothing more to see here, move along" attitude. I don't know why school's try to cover up things like this.

slusher isn't it? :|

VT administration doesn't have what it takes to be a good college these days. They're horrible in student relations.

That's sad. If I die, I hope someone notices before my stench alerts them.

Yea, and parents wouldn't be too happy paying up to ass for their kids to "make connections" if they knew about all this either.

Suicides really aren't anyones business except the police and the family. They aren't news-worthy in most cases.

IT's all about making the school look attractive so they can keep their enrolment numbers up. Loose student and you are going to loose money. And we know it all boils down to MONEY. :(

At my college, we had a antrax scare in the library. At first no one knew about it until we saw bunch of FBI and people in white jumper suites walking into the library. This was at Cal Poly awhile ago. Turned out to be nothing at all....so they said.
