I just noticed that it is impossible to get the $30 back from Kensington for the PC camera I bought last weekend from CompUSA. CompUSA advertised that it was FREE after $29.99 MIR, but you can only get $20 back from the rebate form and the other $10, you got to peel the orange lable off from the package and registered on-line for some crap company and get confirmation e-mail and then acclaim, but even though you can not get it because both requires the ORIGINAL UPC from the package.
Damn! You got me. I hate Kensington, slow rebate redemption, harsh condition for rebates.
Anyone know how to deal with this scam please help!!!!:|

You should email and call CompUSA. If they advertised it as free, it should be, or they should make up the difference.

There has been some discussion about this on other threads, but let me throw in my 2 cents worth...

CompUSA told me to send the original UPC for the $10 rebate, and a COPY to the $20 rebate. The rationale is that the $10 rebate is the manufacturer's rebate, so play by the rules. The $20 is from CompUSA so they will be more flexible.

If you need to reference somebody in the future as a source for this information, please cite Mr. Cook, the Operations Manager at the CompUSA in Monrovia, CA.

I got the same response from the CompUSA store manager as Yoshi2000. General concensus is that's what the store managers have been telling people.
