Kendall Jackson Grand Reserve is a great uner $25 bottle

What are you all drinking tonight?

We're developing a strict budget, so I'm in for CHEAP.

Some random Trader Joe's $4 bottle. It's a Merlot but you wouldn't know it... It's thin and unchallenging. Not a bad $4 bottle, but I'd have been upset at $10 and pissed at $15

I live in the wine country so it's a little different. Plus our wine is always cheeper. Sometimes ill be in Santa Cruz and see bottles that go for $12 at home being sold for $25+.

But, living in the wine country sorta makes me elietist when it comes to wine.
EDIT: I won't buy anything under $8 (usually, unless somethig is on sale, or something comes highly recomended, cause tehre are some killer $8 bottles out there). But ill buy cheep beer. Keystone light!
Meh, different strokes for different folks.

That will be the downfall of the entire wine industry unfortunately.

oh - I'm drinking box wine.

-edit- surplus Ownes Estates 'reserve' for 14 bucks for 3L.

We probably recomend KJ chard for the under $15 crowd more then any other bottle. If they ask for stuff around the reserve price, then it opens up alot more options.

I really like Chatue St. Jean chard. I know it never gets high ratings, and isn't liked that much, but something about it just suits me. And it's fine by me that it's not too expensive.

Ch. St. Michelle is also a decent for the price. My favorite is Toasted Head for around $16 or so. It's quite the conversation piece too. It has an image of a brown bear spitting flames into the air. 🙂 For $25 we recommend Rosemount chard, from Australia.

you keep saying "we", do you work at a liquor store or something?

i enjoy both the cab's of the kj and the st. michelle. whenever i go to costco, i always get the kj because its moderately priced and they dont carry the st. francis cab there. they have the zin and char, but never the cab.

I could go for a nice zin right now. Nice & spicey. Lots of good ones made in California, but not many recognizable labels when compared to other reds. A little pricer too. Good with steak.

I'm on post surgery meds right now, so no drinking, but we've got some pretty good 01 Kirkland Ranch cab, and a drinkable Luna sangiovese in the wine rack.
