cmon, it's almost 2010 and this is the best shit he can come up with? i respect that he's TRYING to push outside his comfort zone, status quo and TRYING to be funny, but he's perpetuating a ridiculous stereotype and at the expense of asian people

i almost feel bad for this guy watching him trying to make jokes because he's not funny at all

Your sig seems contradictory to this post.

FWIW I thought he was hilarious in The Hangover, and he has certainly played any number of roles that were in no way anti-Asian.

LOL goot catch there.

Hangover was the best movie I've seen in a while. I am definitely getting the bluray of this.

I wouldn't go that far. It was a good comedy but I'd definitely say in terms of movies for this summer, Star Trek was a whole lot better and Transformers 2 looks promising

Am I the only one who found hangover completely not funny?

I didn't laugh throughout the whole movie, and only chuckled a couple of times. The person with me felt the same way.

Obviously you're not the ONLY one, since your friend felt the same way, but you are certainly outnumbered - the movie has generated fairly uniform critical acclaim, and the audience when I saw the movie was laughing out loud throughout the whole film (as was I).

It's just so weird. Usually I like comedies. Maybe I like different kinds of comedies?

I don't know..

The funniest movie I've seen of late was Pineapple Express. That had me laughing a lot.

I think that it's a lot easier to get a laugh as a minority comedian when you turn to ethnic stereotypes, especially degrading your own race. We've all seen it with Carlos Mencia, Jeff Foxworthy, and Russell Peters. It's also a cop out and very easy to do.

I thought he was pretty funny too in the Hangover but I too wish he didn't go there.

This was Pineapple Express, they were just hungover instead of high.

I don't even think they're similar. IMO Pineapple Express was by far the worst of the Apatow franchise movies - I was just kind of annoyed by it and only laughed a few times during it - but to each his own and everyone should enjoy whatever they want.
