Keith Emerson of ELP Has Passed Away at 71

The show that never ends has ended.

Only thing I ever had of theirs was a quadraphonic 8 track. It was the only tape that didn't sound like crap in that quadro Craig, and unfortunately I did not care for it at all.

I don't even understand wtf this rig does; this has to be for show right?

I mean FFS he has a lock out/tag out thing on the top left of this.

Anyone into old synth sound needs to check out Walter/Wendy Carlos' stuff - if you haven't already. Switched on Bach, Well Tempered Sythesizer, etc.

From the article, it's been ruled a suicide. Self inflicted gunshot to the head.

Back in the day I liked ELP in small doses. They were all extremely talented musicians but unfortunately, like Yes, they trended towards the overlong and bombastic. Taurus was my favorite album by far and in my opinion the one that has stood up the best to the passage of time.

That's kind of my assessment. I'm not a fan of prog-rock. I acknowledge the talent, but can only listen to it in small doses.

Anyway, RIP. Always sad to see a talented musician gone.
