You will need:

1. A mini-fridge of some kind
2. A compressed air source of some kind...bars use CO2..you can use a comprssor w/some kind of pressure regulated switch.
3. Assorted hoses and fittings.

You can do it!

It depends on how complex you want to get with it. You could try to get one of those dorm fridges (the biggest kind you can get) as one of these could hold a pony keg. You'll probably want to buy your own tap. If you can, go with a gas tap instead of an air tap as the beer will stay fresher longer. Get all the hoses, the tap, and the connectors that you will need. Drill holes in the door and in the sides as necessary, run your hoses, and seal the edges of the holes around the hoses with aquarium grade silicone (available at some pet stores and aquarium stores).

Otherwise, you are going to look at buying a much larger fridge. If you can get a full-size fridge used at a good price, you can do the same thing as described above and have enough room for a full sized keg.

the reason I said that is because your gonna need a fridge big enough for a keg. thats good size $200 eaisily. then you need a CO2 compressor and teh hoses and pipes and teh CO2 source and a tap. itll get you up there to where its more easier to just pay for teh damn thing then save liek 50$ and a headache.

I say this cause I looked into it and going with AMEX was a lot easier :)

What brand? What type? From where? I'm seriously interested in knowing.

I've done some looking for a suitable freezer or fridge that would work for a kegorator and, unfortunately, haven't come up with anything good. The best thing I can figure to do is use a chest freezer and then tweak the thermostat so that it doesn't actually freeze. I figure that's better than a fridge because it'll be a lot easier for a freezer to hold a keg at ~37F than for a fridge. I've been trying to find a freezer that is as small as can be while still holding a full keg (17.5" diameter) but all of them seem to be about 16.5" across on the inside. This seems to be true for all but the biggest freezers and, if I got one of those, it'd probably hold three kegs which, while cool, is way overkill and would be a little large in an apartment.

I'm still on the lookout for something good and if I find one, you can bet I'll be posting about it here. I would appreciate reciprocation. :D

Heh. I'm all about the Google. When I clicked on your second link, all the pages Google brings up have already been clicked on. I'm one step ahead of you, chief. ;)

ok, heres the obligatory google disclaimer so no cheeseball gets mad: "I used google to search for this already, but did not find anything good".
