this computer was used for several years and was working fine. a few weeks back, it started rebooting by itself randomly. at first we thought it is a power issue so i had a UPS installed. got stable for a few days and it went back to rebooting. then we proceeded to replace the PSU with a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 750W. again it got "stable" for a few weeks this time before it returned to rebooting randomly.

the OS was reinstalled (Windows 7) too, RAMs reseated and any other component that can be reseated as well as replaced the CMOS battery. the CPU's thermal paste was also replaced with new one.

after all that it still reboots randomly. i have run out of ideas on what could be causing the random reboots, i hope someone out there can share an experience troubleshooting this kind of problem.

Is this happening under load or when idle? Are you monitoring temps with anything? As Shmee mentioned, memtest is a good place to start. If the computer is old enough, and it has been overclocked, it could be a failing internal component (CPE, motherboard, video card, etc). It's best to start with RAM though. Easiest fix.

I have seen HDD failures cause this, try a different drive and see if the issue persists.
